ABOUT THE LECTURERS OF NRITYABODHA SERIES 12, AUGUST 2021


Smt. Smita Mahajan


Lecturer in Dance for Graduate and Post Graduate students of Bharatanatyam at the Lalit Kala Kendra , University of Pune and Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. Empanelled Guru for graduate and post graduate students of Bharatanatyam at the Centre for Performing Arts, University of Pune.
B.A. in Maths and Stats Mumbai University and M.A. in dance from Pune University.
Sangeet Visharad from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Trained under Dr. Sucheta Chapekar for more than three decades. Trained in Hindustani Classical music under Pandit Sharad Sathe and in Carnatic Music under Sri. K.A. Ganesh. Her many books are published and choreographed many dance ballets.


Smt. Neelima Kadhe


Fine artist and Bharatnatyam exponent. Painting exhibitions and dance performances in many cities in India. Double masters graduate in dance and Indology. Recipient of ' Singar Mani ' title from Sur Singar Samsad. Lecturer in Lalit Kala Kendra Pune on ' interrelationships between Fine arts'. Founder principal of Thane School of art, an art education College. Visiting faculty professor at Lalit Kala, SPPU, Pune. Recipient of 2years' Senior artist researche fellowship' from human resources dept. Govt of India. Written articles regularly on art appreciation and allied subjects in magazines and periodicals.
Written book on 'Art expression' and co written a textbook on 'introduction to performing arts-dance' for Lailt Kala Kendra. Member of writers committee of Balbharati Pune for art books. Member of syllabus committee at Directorate of art Mumbai Lalit kala Kendra Pune Govt.art school Nagpur.



Dr. Madhuri Apte



Founder and director of 'Nrityavedh Kathak Dance Institute ', Pune.
Dr. Madhuri Apte is a senior disciple of Guru Pandita Maneesha Sathe Ji.
She has done M.A. in Kathak from Pune University and Nrityalankar from gandharava mahavidyala. she is honoured with the prestigious, " Singarmani" award by Sursingar sumsad , Mumbai. She has awarded national scholarship from the culture Centre, Govt. Of India.
She is the first one to complete her Ph. D. in Kathak Dance from Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has performed in various cities in India and abroad like Japan, USA, France China etc.
She took initiative to start a radio program called ओळख कथ्थक नृत्याची on pu e akshwani And completed 200 episodes n got very good response from the audience.




Swarada Dhekane


M.A Bharatanatyam, M.A Indology
Swarada is a Bharatanatyam dancer, Dance Blogger, Writer, Teacher and Founder-Director of SPARC, Pune. Disciple of Guru Dr. Parimal Phadke and Dr. Swati Daithankar. She is working as a Dance Blogger since 5 years, Samvaad & Saahityam are her famous Blogs, they explore various topics on Performing Arts and Indian History. She has translated a book ‘Bunch of Javalis’ written by a famous Dance Scholar Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao, in 2018. As a performer, she has performed in many prestigious festivals with her Gurus and also performed solo, all over India. As a writer, her many articles are published in popular magazines and websites/blogs. Currently, she has joined Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune as a Visiting faculty Professor at Dance department.
